Happy Easter of Resurrecton with blessing

On this day, Catholic world welcome Easter celebrations and Resurrection of Jesus Christ as a sign of new life, survival and hope. Catholic Christians around the world and our Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people in homeland and diaspora welcomed Resurrection with great joy and happiness and fasting and Holy Week. Images of our people coming from the homeland were powerful to show resilience and dedication to their ancestral roots and lands. From Iraq to Syria and Lebanon hundreds of people celebrated arrival of Easter despite many challenges, difficulties and ongoing crisis in the region.

While Catholics around the world celebrate Easter Day, Orthodox Christians enter to the Holy Week and preparing the Easter. More than a decade now and following Isis attacks in NinevehPlains villages, this year significant participation of Christians to the festivities was remarkable with the visit of His Beatitude Syriac Catholic Patriarch to the Qaraqosh and environs.

While in Iraq, Christians welcome this Holy Day in Syria also a hopeful development came true. Following ongoing negotiations and consultations, Syriac-Assyrian political parties signed a political understanding agreement to work and collaborate together regarding fundamental rights of our people in Syria. We as ESU, welcome this development and we firmly believe that will create new momentum for our people.

On this Day of Easter Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we kindly call our people around the world to support homeland and remain attached. On behalf of ESU and its member organizations, we wish a blessed and happy Easter to our people and Christians around the world. May this day brings hope, peace and health to all humanity.
