Orthodox Christians around the world and Syriac people in homeland and in diaspora are celebrating great feast of Resurrection of Jesus Christ following fifty days of fasting and Holy Week. Resurrection of Jesus Christ remains forever a symbol of new life, hope and survival.
While around the world, at tacks, harassments and pressure continue incessantly against various Christian communities and more specifically Syriac people are in danger in their historical homeland, arrival of Easter is celebrated massively with great joy and happiness. Amid continued chaos, conflict and challenges Syriac people in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon is welcoming Resurrection with pride and honour.
While in the fasting period, an important development took p lace in France with the official recognition of Sayfo 1915 Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian genocide perpetrated by Ottoman-Turkish rule. Recognition of Sayfo by France is important step towards more broad recognitions in different European countries. We welcome this historical step, presenting our gratitude for French deputies and congratulating our people. Sayfo genocide is part of our national struggle and is always a priority.
On the other hand, on the occasion of East er, ESU is celebrating its 20th jubilee in Germany. With the long heritage and tradition of national struggle, ESU continues its work, struggle and activities around Europe and being a bridge for homeland for the recognition of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.
On this basis, we congratulate Syriac people and Orthodox Christians around the world on this day of Resurrection Jesus Christ and may this Easter feast bring hope, peace and stability around the world.
